Madison County Bowling
Association
Board Of Directors Meeting
June 6, 2006 @ 6:00 PM
Harvey
Poynter called the meeting of the M.C.B.A. to order. Eight (8) board members were present for the meeting. The members discussed the lack of attendance
at the board meetings and what we could do to ensure there are enough members
present to conduct the meetings.
Dropping the number of directors from twelve (12) to ten (10) and
changing the day the meetings are held were suggested. Removing board members who haven’t been
attending the monthly meetings was also suggested. Harvey told the board that the meetings should be held on Tuesday
and if the board members wanted to be on the board they should be able to make
time once a month for our meetings. He
also said that we should wait till the August meeting to decide about the
number of directors and whether to remove board members and the board
agreed. Harvey asked Joe Silver about
our association donating money to sponsor children through the YMCA to bowl in
a summer league at Galaxy that we had discussed at our last meeting. Joe said he couldn’t work it out with the
YMCA but asked if the board would want to donate to sponsor children in a Big
Brothers Big Sisters summer league. He
said there were twelve (12) children bowling twelve (12) weeks costing each
child $10.00 per week. The total amount
for all the children totaled $1,440.
The board voted to donate $1,440 to sponsor the children in the Big
Brothers Big Sisters summer league. The
board next discussed buying shirts for board members. The shirts would help identify board members at tournaments the
association plans to run. The board
members approved the type of shirt from the two types Kim Breeding brought to
the meeting. She took the shirt size
from the members present and is taking care of ordering the shirts. Lewis Jones Jr. told the board that the lane
inspection equipment, which was approved at the last meeting, had been ordered
and should be delivered by the time we do the lane inspections. The lane inspection for Galaxy was set for
Saturday July 15 @ 9:00 A.M. and set the inspection for Maroon Lanes for
Tuesday July 11 @ 5:00 P.M.. Harvey
appointed Kim Breeding and Joe Silver to the audit committee. The board approved the welcome back scratch
no tap tournament date and rules. The board set the next monthly meeting at
Maroon Lanes on Tuesday July 11 @ 5:00 P.M. since we would already be there for
the lane inspections.
