Madison County Bowling Association
Board Of Directors Meeting
Roll Call
John
Beranek called the meeting to order. A
motion to dismiss with the reading of the minutes got a second and passed. Harvey Poynter began the meeting with
information he had gathered about the program book. He told the board that it would cost the association $46.34 a
page for 500 program books and $62.26 a page for 1000 program books. He said Ron Roberts of Copyrite Printing
suggested selling the ads not under $175 a page and charging $200 for the back
of the front page and $250 for the back of the book. Harvey also told the board that we have 10 days to have the book
ready for printing. The members
discussed having enough time to sell the ads and Bill Bradley suggested asking
someone in the advertising dept. at the Richmond Register for help in selling
the ads, giving them a percentage of what they sell. It was also suggested that members who want to sell the ads get a
percentage of the profit. Bill Bradley
made a motion that members who wanted to sell ads for the program book would
get 40% of the profit from the ad. The
motion passed. Mike Moody told the
board that we would get the white towels at $3.00 each. Carla Beranek reported to the board that her
and John had purchased the 4 bowling ball they had said they would order at the
last meeting. Carla also told the board
that the Galaxy Classic League made $54 from their 50/50 pot. The board discussed putting out a
scorekeeper sign up sheet. The persons
wanting to work the state tournament could sign up for a shift on the sheet and
we would let them know where they would be needed to work. Carla said she would make a form for
scorekeeper signups. Bill Bradley said
we would be able to handle the scorekeeping at Galaxy with 3 to 4 scorekeepers
for the house if we needed them at Maroon Lanes since we’ll need a scorekeeper
at every 2 lanes. John Beranek and Mike
Moody said they would help with finding scorekeepers. The board also discussed how we would draw for lanes. It was suggested letting the bowlers draw
for lane numbers. Bill Bradley told the
board that if a team wanted to bowl with another team that we would need to put
them on the same lane but both teams should come to the signup at the same
time. It was also reported to the board
that Comfort Suites would charge what they had agreed on for the rooms during
the state tournament. Harvey Poynter
resigned from the board. The board set
the next meeting for October 18, 2004 at Galaxy Bowling Center. The meeting will start at 9:00 PM.
