Board Of Directors Meeting
Roll Call
John
Beranek called the meeting to order. A
motion to dismiss with the reading of the minutes got a second and passed. The board discussed the Pre-State
Tournament, John Beranek asked the
members who would be able to be at the tournament. Jack Noe told the board that Maroon Lanes wanted to hold a
tournament on the Friday before the state tournament. He said he would get with Lewis Jones Jr. with information on the
tournament. Lewis said he could send
out entries for the tournament with the conformation letters. Bill Bradley went over a checklist of things
that we need to take care of for the tournament. Bill told the members that we need to have the National Anthem
played at both houses everyday before the start of the state tournament and
that we will need to announce the teams at Maroon Lanes. Bill also suggested raffling three bowling
balls from each house. The following
said they would donate a ball for the raffle:
Bill Hare, Bill Bradley, Jack Noe, John Poynter, John/Carla Beranek and
the sixth ball was paid for by donations from seven board members. John Beranek said he would order four of the
bowling balls off the internet. The
board then discussed the breakfast for 9:00 AM Sunday Nov. 7. The breakfast will be $6.50 per
person. Bill Bradley said he wouldn’t
be able to work the state tournament on November 20. Bill also told the board that the Hall Of Fame plaque with Roger
Childress’ name on it was presented to our association at Maroon Lanes. He also said that the Childress family wanted
to donate about twenty of Roger’s bowling balls to the association. It was suggested that we could sell them in
the pro shop. The board also discussed
50/50 pots, Eli Harness said he would
purchase six rolls of tickets for the pot.
The members talked about posting signs at both houses asking for score
keepers for the state tournament. John
Beranek asked Mike Moody about the towels ordered for the tournament. Mike said the towels should be ready by this
Wednesday. The board set the price of
the towels at $10.00 each. John asked
about the program book. Harvey Poynter
said needs to get with Ron Roberts about how much he would charge for printing
the book. Bill Bradley told the board
Comfort Suites wouldn’t give the state tournament bowlers the price they had
quoted us. John Beranek said we need to
check with them about the price they agreed on for the bowlers. Bill Bradley suggested we wear name tags for
the tournament. Carla Beranek said she
would make name tags the board members could wear around the neck. Bill B. told the members that we should meet
every week up to the state tournament after our next meeting. The board set the next meeting for October
11, 2004 at Galaxy Bowling Center. The
meeting will start at 9:00 PM.
