John
Beranek (MCBA President) called the meeting to order. John told the members that we would take care of the officer
elections first. Harvey Poynter and
Michael Weaver were the nominees for President with Harvey Poynter winning the
vote. Gary Kerns and Michael Weaver
were the nominees for vice-president with Gary Kerns winning the vote. Judy Poynter was the only nominee for
sergeant-at-arms and will fill the position.

were: Bill Bradley, John Beranek, Kim
Breeding, Mike Dillon, Lewis Jones Jr., Worth McGuire, Mike Moody, Jack Noe,
Beverly Shearer, Joe Silver, Michael Weaver and Wilma Whittamore. Next the
members went over the bylaws. The
association’s name will be Madison County USBC BA. The local membership dues will be $6.00 making the total
membership dues $16.00. The maximum
number of directors will be (12) twelve.
The term of directors will be (2) two years and officers will be (3)
years. A quorum for a meeting will
require (8) eight board members.
Amendments to the bylaws must be submitted in writing (15) fifteen days
prier to any association meeting. Joe
Silver spoke to the members about our association working with the YMCA to help
underprivileged kids bowl this summer in a kids league at Galaxy Bowling
Center. The board asked Joe to get a
count of the number of kids and how much it would cost per kid to bowl. Joe
told the board that the cost would be $7.50 per child per week. He thought they would be around (50) fifty
kids. Joe said he would have more
information at the next meeting including number of kids. The members next discussed buying shirts for
the board members. Kim Breeding said
she would bring some samples of shirts to our next meeting. Mike Moody told the members the association
should provide patches for award scores to the bowlers in our association
because the USBC no longer gives patches for some award scores. The board asked Mike to bring samples of
patches we could give out to the bowlers.
Judy Poynter suggested other type of awards and said she would bring
some samples to the next meeting. Lewis
Jones Jr. told the board he thought our association should buy some new
equipment for the lane inspections and would bring a list of equipment he
thought we would need. The members set
the salary for the President at $200 and association manager at $450. John Beranek told the members that Harvey
Poynter could appoint new committee members at the start of his term. The members discussed a derby tournament and
a tournament to start the fall season.
The members decided to talk more about the tournaments at the next
meeting. The board set the next meeting for April 25, 2006 at Galaxy Bowling
Center. The meeting will start at 7:00
