TOURNAMENT RULES FOR THE

2012 M.C.B.A.’S ANNUAL CITY TOURNAMENT

 

1.       All 2011-2012 members of the Madison County Bowling Association who have bowled at least 12 games in a league at Galaxy Bowling Center in the 2011-2012 season are eligible to bowl in this tournament.   Women who do not have 12 games bowled may use their average of 12 games or more from a women’s league at Galaxy Bowling Center.

2.       Tournament directors will be Lewis Jones Jr.  (626-7093) and Harvey Poynter (582-4764).

3.       Dates and Times:  The Singles, Doubles and Team Events will be bowled at Galaxy Bowling Center on Saturday January 28th and February 4th at  12:00 PM and 3:00 PM and Sunday January 29 and  February 5th  at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.  The Singles and Doubles Events are separate events to be bowled on different shifts and either event may be bowled on any shift.  If requested the tournament director may approve bowling the Singles and Doubles Events in a single session if lanes and time permits.  In this situation the maximum number of bowlers per lane will be two (2) so the bowlers may complete both events in the allotted session time.

4.       The tournament committee will consist of all M.C.B.A. board members.

5.       Entries are non-refundable.

6.       All bowlers must present their USBC cards at registration.

7.       Times and dates will be on a first come, first served basis.

8.       All entry forms must include payment.  Please make checks payable to Madison County Bowling Association.

9.       Lanes will be assigned at registration.  Each team captain must check back at registration ten (10) minutes before each shift to receive lane assignments.

10.   Entrants are subject to USBC rule number 319 concerning incorrect averages.  Failure to use the proper average or to make a correction prior to the completion of the first game of a series shall disqualify the score if the submitted average is lower than the actual average or base prize winnings on submitted average if it is higher.

11.    All bowlers agree to comply with USBC and MCBA rules and regulations.  Also must comply with the house rules during this tournament.

12.    In case of protest notify the tournament committee at once.

13.    All entrants should be familiar with the re-rating requirements stated under USBC rule number 319, which will apply  to this tournament.  The MCBA tournament committee will have the final say on any rule.

14.    Handicap shall be 100 percent of the difference between the bowler’s average and 220.

15.    Entrants will use their highest current average of 12 games or more bowled in a M.C.B.A. sanctioned league.  Women who are members of the M.C.B.A. but do not have an average having bowled 12 games will use their highest average of 12 games or more from a Madison County Women’s B.A. sanctioned  league.   If no current average use highest yearbook average.  If none of the above applies then refer to USBC rule number 319b.  The association set 180 as the average for bowlers with no average.

16.    Money will be awarded to the winners of this tournament.  The prize money will be given out to the winners of the 2012 MCBA’s Annual City Tournament at our annual meeting in April.  Please contact the tournament directors for place and time of our annual meeting.  Prize money will be mailed to the winners not present at the annual meeting.

17.    Prize ratio will be 1 of every 8 entries in each event.

18.    All events scratch and handicap prize ratio will be 1 of every 15 entries.

19.    All winners will be determined on handicap basis except for the all events winners that will be based on a handicap winner and a scratch winner.  Scratch Series will take precedence in the All Events.  In the All Events payout a bowler can only place once.

20.    Single event entries may bowl more than once but may only place 1 in every 5 places.

21.    Doubles events entries may be reentered but can only place 1 in 5 places with the same partner.

22.    Teams will consist of 4 bowlers.  Teams may reenter in the Team Event but if more than two persons bowl on the same team that team  may only place once in every 5 places.

23.    All events shall consist of the first 9 games bowled (team 3 games, doubles 3 games and singles 3 games) only.  Only the first series in each event count towards the All Events.

24.    Entry fee will be $20.00 for each bowler for the team, doubles and singles events.  Entry fee for the all events will be $5.00 per bowler.  The entry fee shall be broken down as follows:  Lineage $7.25 and the prize fund $12.75.

25.    All bowlers must refrain from the use of profanity.
